Portable Gel Plants
NorthTree Fire responds with Portable Gel Plants capable of supplying multiple fixed wing or rotor wing aircraft in a very high volume operation.

These Portable Gel Plants can supply GSA listed Thermo-Gel® with or without food grade colorant. Our plants are compact in design and can be airlifted into remote water sources or set up at temporary or permanent air bases.

NorthTree Makes Gel Work
We can supply the gel plant alone, or we can supply all the support equipment including tactical tenders and large volume water/ gel storage using up to 14,000 gallon storage dip tanks. NTFI has multiple State and Federal contracts we can be ordered through.
Mobile Gel Plant Specifications
- Able to mix gel at a rate of 24,000 gallons per hour.
- For helicopter operations the plant can load mixed gel into a helicopter dip tank at a rate of 400 gallons per minute.
- The plant is able to draft and/or pump all required water from a non-pressurized source, over a distance of at least 400 feet, in quantities sufficient to meet the mixing and loading requirements stated above.
- For helicopter operations the plant includes a 10 foot wide diptank, with a water depth of 8 feet, this permits filling of a 2,000 gallon helicopter bucket by dipping.
- The plant includes one separate open-top fresh water rinse tank of the same size as stated above.
- The plant arrives at the incident with enough chemical concentrate to provide at least 50,000 gallons of mixed product.
- NTFI provides the gel concentrate, equipment, personnel, transportation, and any other items needed to keep the plant running.
